Doctors of Internal Medicine focus on adult medicine and have had special study and training focusing on the prevention and treatment of adult diseases. At least three of their seven or more years of medical school and postgraduate training are dedicated to learning how to prevent, diagnose, and treat diseases that affect adults.
Internists are sometimes referred to as the "doctor's doctor," because they are often called upon to act as consultants to other physicians to help solve puzzling diagnostic problems. Internists are equipped to deal with whatever problem a patient brings — no matter how common or rare, or how simple or complex.
The term primary care refers to the kind of medical care you need first — before you get sick, before you need to see a specialist, before you need to go to a hospital. As your primary care provider we will address your essential health needs from preventative medicine in the office setting to critical care in the hospital setting.
We understand that health is personal and accessibility is critical. We are dedicated to our patients and keep up with the latest advances in medical knowledge, helping you make highly informed decisions about your health.
